I'm currently re-reading Stephen King's magnum opus "IT" Unusually for me it has really gotten under my skin. Normally I can read horror without a problem but this time around I'm having really vivid dreams - balloons and evil clowns featuring heavily LOL.
This image kept popping up in my minds eye so I had to exorcise it
Was attracted by the idea of representing the book with as few visual cues as possible, probably went overboard with the text, but I'm happy with it.
Ooh, I like it. Very minimalist, which is nice considering how ephemeral the villain in the story is. Might give Dean Koontz's "Phantoms" a read, if you can tolerate a book about half as long as "IT." I won't say "IT" was a blatant rip, but it's obvious that King took a lot of the elements for his book from Phantoms. That said, IT is a much better read and I'd recommend it before Phantoms regardless of who wrote what first.
I must admit I've never really gotten on well with Koontz. Apart from "Watchers", "The Bad Place" and "Dark Rivers of the Heart" which I really enjoyed, I find him a little of a chore to read. Having said that I'll definitely give "Phantoms" a go.
